ClearSlide is acquiring SlideRocket to enhance its rich interactive presentation capabilities that are part of the overall ClearSlide sales engagement platform. ClearSlide is focused on empowering sales teams to engage customers and close business faster. ClearSlide's revenue and customer base has grown tremendously, and the company has more than tripled its employee base to support the growth.

Founded in 2006 and with more than one million companies, SlideRocket reinvented presentations by adding interactive capabilities like video, audio, rich media, and analytics in a hosted platform to elevate storytelling and deliver tangible results.

A key to engaging prospects and customers is to quickly and effectively communicate ideas and value. With the addition of the SlideRocket interactive capabilities, ClearSlide gives sales teams more productivity and power to sell more effectively.

What is ClearSlide buying?

ClearSlide is buying the SlideRocket business unit from VMware, including the technology, products, customers and core employees.

What does SlideRocket do?

SlideRocket is a platform to edit and create highly interactive presentations on the web. These presentations can create powerful narratives and strong engagement with prospects and customers.

How much was paid?

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

What will happen to the SlideRocket service?

Both ClearSlide and VMware are committed to maintaining the SlideRocket service for some period of time, until key SlideRocket capabilities are integrated into the ClearSlide sales engagement platform. ClearSlide will be reaching out to SlideRocket customers to ensure a smooth transition.

Will the free SlideRocket service still be offered to customers?

We will be evaluating changes to SlideRocket service offerings and contacting SlideRocket users and customers regarding any changes to pricing or service offerings over the next 30 days.

When will these new capabilities show up in ClearSlide?

Some key SlideRocket features related to rich interactivity will show up in the ClearSlide platform later this year. Stay tuned for further details.

What is happening to the employees of SlideRocket?

We're pleased to announce the majority of the SlideRocket team is joining ClearSlide. Together, we're committed to integrating key SlideRocket capabilities into the ClearSlide platform and creating an even more powerful sales engagement platform.

It's a big day for ClearSlide! (first blog post!!)

Today, I am thrilled to announce that ClearSlide has raised $28 million in a new round of funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from our existing investors Greylock Partners and Felicis Ventures. We're excited to be working with BVP because of their deep understanding of the key SaaS drivers and metrics, their expansive network, and their long track record of successfully scaling great businesses.

It's been a truly fantastic year. When we closed our series A round in September of last year, we had 20 employees. We've grown to over 100 in less than a year, and all of our metrics (including revenue, customers, users, and activity) have skyrocketed at a similar rate.

I want to send my appreciation to everyone who has helped create this awesome growth. First, a big thanks to our awesome team of 'sliders, whose hard work, dedication, positive attitudes, creativity and team spirit have propelled the company forward at an amazing speed.

I'd like to thank our customers for showing awesome enthusiasm and passion for our products and services. I'm especially grateful for all the product feedback you've sent us, which continuously helps to make ClearSlide better and better.

And I also want to extend appreciation to our investors and our board members, John and Aydin, who have supported us where we needed it, and pushed us where we needed to be pushed. Jim and I are honored that Byron and JJ are joining the board as well - we really look forward to having you on the CS team.

This investment, gives ClearSlide the resources to "go big" and to capture the massive opportunity that stands before us. We're working aggressively to transform enterprise sales teams by providing them with a single, modern platform on which to communicate with their customers and prospects. We have an exciting roadmap for the coming year, and I'm truly thrilled and looking forward to building it with all of you.
